Bülent Karakuş was born on March 25,1963, in Muğla. He graduated from Muğla Dumlupınar Primary School, Merkez Secondary School and Turgut Reis High School respectively. He has a bachelor’s degree from Faculty of Science, Department of Biology in Hacettepe University.
He has an intermediate level of English. His hobbies include diving, spearfishing, land hunting, football and travelling. He is married and has two children, a son and a daughter.
Bülent Karakuş completed his military service as a reserve officer in 1986, and he became a partner in Karakuşlar Transportation LLC on December 21, 2000. Then, he served as the Chairman of the Young Businessmen Association of Muğla and a Member of the Municipal Council.
He was the Chairman of the Board of the Muğla Chamber of Commerce and Industry between 2005 and 2018, the President of the Red Crescent Muğla Branch between 2006 and 2018, the Executive Board Member of the World Trade Center between 2009 and 2015, and the Executive Board Member of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey between 2015 and 2018. Additionally, he served as an Executive Board Member of the Turkish-Arab Chamber and the South Aegean Development Agency. He was the Vice Chairman of TECHNOPARK Inc.
Bülent Karakuş, during taking charge in those boards, focused on alternative tourism and local products in Muğla and he carried out important works to develop the city Muğla as a strong brand.
Mr. Karakuş continues to maintain his positions of the Vice Chairman of the Istanbul World Trade Center Board of Directors, TOBB General Administrative Board Member, The Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of TEKNOPARK Inc., and a Member of the Board of the South Aegean Development Agency (GEKA).
